Several generations later the business is still owned and run by the Bache Gabrielsen family, now being run by Thomass great grandson Herv Bache Gabrielsen. Tre Kors dates back to the Norwegian prohibition era (1916 1926). Liquor was only available for medicinal purposes, so young Thomas Bache Gabrielsen replaced the existing three stars on the label of his VS Cognac with three crosses.
