Its name suggests that this fig is from Piacenza, a capital city in Northern Italy. However, it is also known as part of Paolo Bellonis collection at the Pomona Gardens botanical conservatory in the Valle dItria in southern Italy. From there, Fico Secco Piacentino made its way into the hands of the well known Italian American fig grower, Mario DiNatale. This variety is also
